RPSGT needed for part-time position in North Georgia Sleep Lab
Piedmont Mountainside Hospital Sleep Disorders Center in Jasper, GA is seeking a part-time registered polysomnographic technologist.
The candidate will work independently performing all aspects of diagnostic testing and record scoring of data to ensure a high degree of quality services. Duties include helping less experienced technologists with tasks as needed or as requested by the Sleep Center Coordinator and Lead Polysomnography Technologist. The shift will be every Friday and Saturday night and every other Thursday night.

- Work week: Work 4 ten-hour evening shifts

- Review existing patient information in patient record
- Examine orders and protocols for study
- Interview patient to assess current medications, recent caffeine or alcohol ingestion, current sleep pattern, and need for treatment intervention during testing (e.g., insulin)
- Efficient application of recording devices to the patient, cleaning/sterilization of equipment and proper set up for monitoring of polysomnograms
- Ensures the integrity of diagnostic data collection through proper calibration and vigilant monitoring throughout the procedure
- Ability to recognize sleep pathology when it occurs and respond with the appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety
- Preparing for patient arrival by setting up equipment to be used, gathering necessary patient information, recording the montage to be utilized, preparing video and audio equipment as appropriate and obtaining patient questionnaires.
- Administer oxygen and continuous or bi-level positive airway pressure in accordance with established protocols. May perform special procedures such as basic pediatric studies, multiple polysomnograms, ambulatory monitoring, and/ or patient education as necessary
- Ability to record and review polysomnogram
- Ability and knowledge to follow all standard operating procedures at all times for patient studies and pre & post-study requirements

Excellent patient relations skills, and technical skills, and able to 100% identify any life threatening arrhythmia. No additional credit for RRT, EMT or EEG experience. Must be able to accurately Stage and Score while on shift, and produce a report prior to leaving shift.
Base + Shift diff for an entry level person would total about $20 /hr, and depending on experience, could total as much as $24. / hour.
